NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP
TITLE WON BY R. ARNST.

CIIRISTCHURCH. Thursday. The seventeenth annual New Zealand sparrow championship was shot to-day under the auspices o£ Springston Gun Club at Soekburi). The winner was R. Arnst, of Christcliurch.
There were ■'•52 entries from all parts of the Dominion. The prize money wa« divided 'anions: sis competitors, who tied in the first shoot and who later competed in the shoot-off.
The six were: 11. Arnst (Christcliurch), H. -Clinch (Kin? Country). \Y. It. Honey (Chvistehurch). li. Mellwriek (South Canterbury). R. K. Farrow (Waikato). .1. Simpson (Christchurch). All six killed 1!) birds?. In the ■ slioot-off. Arnst. Clinch, Heney and Mellwriek tied, it was then decided that, the lirst miss would disqualify. Heney and Mcllwrick los-t the next bird, and Clinch lost the eleventh bird, leaving A.rust the winner.
