DISALLOWED TRY.

PROTEST DISMISSED.

USE OF CARLAW PARK.

The management committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening dismissed a protest by the Otahuhu Euabv League Club against the Point Chevalier Club winning a recent senior game by what was considered to be a disallowed try. It was decided to inform the Otahuhu" Club that the try was a question of fact, and that the referee's ruling was final. Permission for the use of Carlaw Park wa s asked by the South Auckland League, which wrote stating that Northland had challenged for the Northern Union Cup. The New Zealand Council had no objection to the match being played in Auckland. There was, however, a lengthy season in Auckland, and it was decided to advise the South Auckland League that Carlaw Park would not be available at present. Support of a letter asking for the use of Carlaw Park was given by the chairman of the New Zealand Rugby League, Jlr. C. A. Snedden, who waited on the meeting. It was asked that more favourable terms than those proposed for the match between the New Zealand team now in Australia, and Auckland on August 23, be given. It was suggested, said Mr. Snedden, that the Auckland League wanted 50 per cent of the gatetakings. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. G. Rhodes, the chairman, to grant the use of the ground on the usual terms. The following fixtures were arranged for Saturday:— SENIOR GRADE A. Marist v. Ponsonby, Carlaw Park No. 1, 3.15 p.m., Mr. P.
