£50,000 SPENT IN A MONTH.

SYDNEY, this day.
The results for the first month indicate the benefits the unemployed arc deriving from the Government's emergency scheme. Five ' thousand arc already working and £50,000 has been distributed among them. Another 2500 begin work to-day, and by the end of the week 10,000 will be" eai'ning wages for the first time this winter.
