RECOGNITION OP BRAVERY
AWARDS IN WELLINGTON.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Two presentations were made 011 behalf of the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand at the meeting this evening of the Wellington Harbour Board. Mr, L. P. Fox, caretaker of the Miramar wharf, who twice rescued bovs who fell off this wharf, was presented with two letters of commendation. In one case "Mr. Fdx heard an alarm, and ran to the spot, but was unable to find the boy. On seeing bubbles rising to the surface he dived in, fully clothed, and found the boy in 10ft of water. Artificial respiration was successful.
In the other case, Mr. Fox was responsible for the rescue of a boy who fell into 30ffc of water while ho was fishing from the side of the wharf. Again Mr. Fox dived in fully clothed, and brought the bov to shore.
A framed certificate was awarded to I Mr.- W. McGee, a waterside worker, of I Hataitai,. who brought a man out of the | harbour on August 27 last, after diving | into the water fully clothed. R
