TRADE AGREEMENT.
PREFERENCE ON TIMBER.
CANADIAN" ELECTION ISSUE.
(Received 11.30 a.m.)
VANCOUVER, July 23.
The New Zealand preference to Canadian lumber greatly pleases British Columbia lumbermen, who declare that the action will materially assist in the negotiation of a new trade agreement at Ottawa, which the Premier, Mr. Mackenzie King, in the election campaign has made one of the leading issues. The preference on manufactured doors r.r.d sashes is particularly welcome.
