The 33>use of Commons last evening agreed without division to a motion moved ry the president of the Board of Trad', Mr. W. Graham, accepting the amendments made to the Coal Mines Bill by'the House of Lords, subject.to the condition that the district "spreadover" arrangements must have the approial of the Mining Association of Britah and the. Miners' Federation. Sir Philip Cunliffe Lister (Con., Hendon), on behalf of the Opposition, accep,ed the condition. Sir. Herbert Samuel (Lib., Darwen) said he hoped the arrangement was a good augury for the future settlement of cial mining coniroversies.
