A message from the Chateau Tongariro, National Park, states that there has been a heavy snowfall "in the district. _ Owing to the mild winter, snow conditions up to the present have been rather poor for winter sports, but with the latest fall everything is in excellent order for ski-ing. This news lias been anxiously awaited by the many devotees of snow sports, a large number of whom will undoubtedly take the earliest opportunity of visiting the mountain, ret sort. . '
