LONDON WOOL SALES,

(Received 10.30 a.m.)

LONDON, July 21. At the wool sales 7204 bales were offered, including 3290 New Zealand. About 6270 were sold. There was a good offering of greasy Merinos, and a fair supply of crossbred slipes. There was good competition, with prices firm. New Zealand greasy crossbreds, Mars, 10% d to 9%d; HMG, lOd to 9%d. Bradford is quiet and steady. Quotations are firm and business small. New Zealand slide crossbred, T. B. and S. Diamond, Canterbury, 14% d.

DAIRY PRODUCE.

Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co. have received the following cable from their London principals, Messrs. Nathan and Trengrouse, dated July 21:—Butter: 136/ per cwt; quiet. Cheese: White, 79/ per cwt; coloured, 83/; firm.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London principals, Messrs. Samuel Page and Son, dated 21st instant:—Cheese: Prices are 2/ to 3/ dearer. Last quotations: White, 75/ to 77/; coloured, 81/ to 82/. TALLOW AND HEMP. The Dep/vrtment of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated July 19, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London Tallow. —The spot market is quiet and steady with fair demand at auction, 675 packages being offered and 444 sold. Present quotations are:—Mutton: Fine, 31/ per cwt; fair to good, 26/ to 29/; dark to dull, 24/ to 25/. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed, 27/6 to 35/; fair to good, 24/6 to 27/6; dark to dull, 23/ to 24/. Mixed: Fair to good, 24/ to 27/; dark to dull, 23/ to 24/. Gut, etc., 20/ to 23/. Hemp.—The Manila market is easier under selling pressure and limited suppotft. J grade sold at £22 10/ for August-October shipment, and £22 15/ for SeptemberNovember shipment. Sisal: The, market is quiet but steady. Quotations for first l grade fair average quality are £24 15/ for afloat and June-August shipment, and £25 for July-September and August-October shipment. Mexican sisal: It is reported that 28,000 bales have been lost by the fire in Progresso, but the market is not greatly affected by the reports as present stocks there are 300,000 bales. For good white the nominal quotation is £26 15/. New Zealand: The market continues dull and no first hand sales are reported. High fair is offered at £34 spot, Antwerp, but there are no buyers. WHEAT CARGOES, ETC. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 21." Wheat cargoes are firm, sellers asking an advance of 6d to,9d, but the market eased a little. Parcels opened firm, sellers asking advances of 9d to 1/, but closed lower. Futures:—London: July. 33/6 per quarter; September, 33/8. Liverpool: July, 7/3% per cental; October, <7/4%; December, 7/5%; March, 7/7. CHICAGO WHEAT VALUES. (Received 12.30 p.m.) : ' CHICAGO, July 21. Wheat fpr delivery in July is quoted at Chicago at 87% cents per bushel. For September delivery the rate is 90% cents, for December 96% cents, and for March $1.01%.
