TENNIS BALL.
Multi-coloured • streamers; balloons, and greenery were features of the decorations for the Clevedon Tennis Club's annual ball on Friday, evening. There was a large attendance, including Mr. R. B. Harding, president of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, and . Mr. E. Hickson, late president. . The former presented the club with the shield ] attached to the B grade championship I in the outer suburban area, and con- | gratulated the team on its success. Sir. A. D. Bell, president of ;the club, made the presentation of trophies won during the past season as follows: Championship singles, Miss dean McCullough and .Mr. C. Stephens; ladies' doubles, Mrs. J. Alexander and Miss" Jean McCullough; men's doubles, Messrs. 8.. Stephens and Wells; Mr. McCullough's trophy for. combined doubles, Miss I. Hyde, and Mr. E. Dawe. A supper was served by the ladies of the committee. Those present included:' Mesdames H. Bryant, ring. velvet; P. Stephens/ green satin; A. D. Bell,: black silk embossed georgette; Eyre, beaded georgette and silk shawl; Bray, blue satin and silver lace; Neeley, gold satin; M. Andrews, black "velour -and black lace; J. O'Hara, red georgette, laco shawl; Misses Z. Stephens, ankle length frock of green, taffeta; Hilda Nicol, lime, taffeta, ankle length; McCullough, primrose georgette; E. Hyde, royal air force blue georgette, silver relief; JR. Shaw, ankle length green lace; Coxhead, delphinium blue crepe de chine; M. Gore, white crepe de , chine, silver trimmings; M. Dunn (Alfriston), flame .frilled taffeta; T. Spragg, Oriental lame bodice,, green satin skirt; Thelma Mullins, ankle length frock of lemon taffeta, shawl to tone; I. Stephens, apricot crepe de chine, uneven hemline; K. Muir, pink satin skirt of silk net and ribbon; H. J. Mainwaring, ankle length beige lace and satin; P. Silk, reseda crepe de chine, diamante trimmed; J. Hollis, y ivory tulle; Howie, peach moire velvet and crepe de chine; J. Colthurst, rose coloured frock; Nancy Bray, lemon satin and silver lace; P. Smith, pale blue georgette, silver lace; P. Mackesy, scarlet net frock; Marjorie Munro, sea green satin, pink net.
