WESTFIELD WEEKLY SALE, s STEADY DEMAND AT LATE EATES. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day beef was penned in average numbers. There was a steady demand, with values on a par with last week's sales. Extra choice ox sold to 38/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 35/ to 37/; secondary and plain ox, 32/ to 34/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 31/ to 34/; ordinary cow beef, 27/ to 30/; heavy prime steers, £14 10/ to £15 7/6; lighter prime steers, £13 to £14 7/6; light prime steers, £10 10/ to £12 17/6; small and unfinished steers, ±'J to £11 5/; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £9 15/ to £11; heavy prime cows and heifers, £8 7/6 to £9 10/; lighter prime cows and heifers, £7 to £8 5/; light cows, £5 15/ to £6 17/6; other Cows, ±4 to £5 12/6. Messrs. Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report as follows:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day our beef pens contained 399 head, as against 362 at last Wednesday's market. The yarding comprised 208 steers and 191 cows and heiters. The quality was well up to standard, and there was little or no change in demand and values. Quotations: Extra choice ox sold to £1 18/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, £1 15/ to £1 17/: secondary and plain ox; £1 12/ to £1 14/; prime young cow and-heifer beef, £1 11/ to £1 13/6; ordinary cow beef, £1 4/ to £1 10/. Extra heavy, prime steers ranged in price trow £15 5/ to £16; heavy prime steers, £}* 10/ to £15 2/6; lighter prime steers, £« 10/ to £14 7/6; light prime steers, ±U 15/ to £13 7/6; small and unfinished steers, £Sto£ll 12/0.
