WESTERN TAKAPUNA.
EATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION.
At the monthly meeting of the Takapnna .Western Area,. Ratepayers and Residents' Association, the president, Mrs. J. C. Blomfield, was in the chair. She reported that the shelter shed at the corner of Killarney Street had been completed and was in use. Much indignation was expressed at the news that a 'further increase in wages of members'of the council office staff was to be made. No exception was taken to the increases granted to two of the junior members, but a resolution was passed protesting against the increases granted to members whom the association considered were already well-paid, while the council rates are so high.
