TALLOW, HEMP, FRUIT, ETC. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated June 14, from the High Commissioner for Now Zealand in London:— Tallow. —No auction this week. The market continues quiet, with no change in prices.. Hemp.—Manila: The market is dull and easy. ' " J " grade June-August shipment quoted, sellers, £24. Sisal: The market is dull and depressed. No. 1 fair average quality for June-August shipment sold at £26 5/ and July-September shipment quoted, sellers, £26 10/. Mexican: It is reported that Co-operative have reduced the price by 6% cents c.i.f. New York, equal to £31 3/ per ton. The reduction is considered inadequate compared with the prices of competing fibres, and no sales have been made. Stocks are increasing and now amount to 39,000 tons, and prospects are not encouraging. New Zealand: The market continues dull, and no business is reported. Fruit.—Rangitiki and Zealandic almost clear, and Port Fairy being sold. Granny Smith, 20/ to 25/; other apple prices unchanged. Pears: An improved market. Average prices are:—Winter Cole, 11/ to 13/; Winter Nelis, 13/ to 15/; P. Barry, 12/ to 13/; Keiffers, 10/ to 12/. Wool.—The Bradford market is quiet. Users of tops are well covered for immediate needs, and are holding off. The market for forward buying is very quiet; 40's, prepared, are steady at the last price quoted, and others are VzA. clown. FROZEN MEAT.
