CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES.
"God the Preserver of Man," was the subject of the lesson-sermon in First Church of Christ, Scientist. The text was from the Psalms: "Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on Thee. Redeem Israel, o.God, out of all his troubles." Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon was the following from the Bible: "And it came to pass, when He was in a certain city,-behold a man full of leprosy,-who, seeing Jesus, fell on his face, and besought Him, saying, Lord, if Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean. And He put .forth His hand and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him."
The lesson-sermon also included' the following from the Christian Scienca Textbook, by Mary Baker Eddy: "Jesus never asked if disease were acute or chronic, and He never recommended attention to laws of health, never gave drugs, never prayer! to know if God were willing that a man should live. He understood man, whose life is God, to be immortal, and knew that man has not" two lives, one to be destroyed and the other to be made indestructible."
