Travis Axworthy Again. — Harold Logan Beats Country

King.

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star."') CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Canterbury Park Trotting Club's Winter Meeting, which opened at Addington on Saturday, is terminating in good weather on a fast track. There is another splendid attendance. In the Progressive Handicap St. Petrox went to the front itliree furlongs from home, Gemlight and White Satin following. Into the straight St. Petrox held on, and won comfortably by a length from Gemlight, who beat White Satin by a length. Repute was close up fourth at the head of a big bunch. Time, 3.30, 3.29 2-5, 3.27 3-5. In the Harewood Handicap, Country Iving led Mac Dillon, Harold Logan and Brentlight along the back. Two furlongs from home Harold Logan joined Country King in the lead, with Brentlight at the head of the others. They raced like this to the straight, where Harold Logan went on and beat Country King by a good length. Brentlight was two lengths away, a neck in front of Lydia, with Kautoma close up. Times: 3.19 2-5, 3.21 4-5, 3.22 1-5.

In the King George Handicap Maiwhariti took charge at the start. Starting on tho last lap Maiwhariti was well clear of The Shrew and Travis Axworthy, with Linkman, Athalone, Trampfast and Waitaki Girl at the head of the others. Three furlongs from home Maiwhariti was four lengths in front of Travis. Axworthy, with Linkman two lengths further back, while Jean McElwyn and Athalone were' at the head of the next bunch. Maiwhariti was in troxible when the straight was reached, Travis. Axworthy taking charge. Linkman then threw out a strong challenge, but Travis Axworthy drew away again in the last fifty yards to win by a length. Jean McElwyn was two lengths' away, third, while a length further back came CarmeJ at the head of a big bunch. Times: 4.24 4-5, 4.24, 4.24 2-5.

In the Elevation Handicap New Metford led Lady Fan into the straight, and went onto win easily by four lengths. Lady Fan tired in the run home, and Sarsaparilla got up in time to beat Quickfire by a neck for second place, with Lady Fan fourth. 'Time: 4.34 4-5, 4.30, 4.32 1-5. Results: —
