Busy Time for Empire Pressmen
In London.

Tho fourth Imperial Press Conference was opened in London yesterday, and will be continued throughout June. Apart from the business of the ence the delegates have, a programme of receptions and banquets arranged in their honour. .
After a preliminary session at Grosyenor House yesterday there was a reception by the Lord Mayor of London, Sir William Waterlow, at, Guildhall, followed by a banquet given in the same building by the British Press. Major J. J. Astor, MP., presided. On Tuesday (King's Birthday) the delegates will witness the trooping of the colours at the Horse Guards Parade and attend a luncheon to be given by the Empire Parliamentary Association in Westminster Hall.
On Wednesday the delegates will visit Epsom Downs to see the Derby run. Later there will he an opportunity for them to attend the Ascot races—one of the most important social events of the season. . The King and Queen will receive tlie visitors at
Buckingham Palace
on June 24, and two days later the delegates will visit Portsmouth to witness a naval demonstration. On June 28 they will see a display by the Eoyal Air Force at Hendon. .
In the course of the month the visitors will inspect the offices of metropolitan and provincial newspapers. Visits will also'be paid to Oxford, Edinburgh and Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-on-Avon.
Important matters of inter-Imperial aspect will occupy the conference. These will include the questions of a reduction in cable and wireless rates, improved facilities for communication and fuller publication of Dominions news in the British Press,-'.
