RIALTO THEATRE. A holiday programme out of the ordinary is announced for to-night at the Rialto Theatre, Newmarket. The main picture is "A Song of Kentucky," a racing film that has many thrills and holds the interest throughout.. This picture shows the actual race for the Derby run in wet weather. There is a love romance and much intrigue, with humour interspersed. A supporting programme of talking" featurettcs will also be screened. DE LUXE THEATRE. At the De Luxe Theatre, Mount Albert, to-night, the main talking picture will be "Why Bring That Up," featuring Moran and Mack, the two black crows. This comedy by the worlds funniest men is good entertainment for a holiday night. There will be a full programme of talking featurettes. REGENT (EPSOM). At the Regent Theatre, Epsom, the holiday programme to-night has for the main feature, "Embarrassing Moments," Reginald Denny's first all-talking. picture. For the holiday a good programme has been arranged for the West End Theatre, Ponsonby Road, and the Alexandra Theatre, Green Lane. The main attraction at both theatres will be "Dynamite," Cecil B. De Mille's first talking picture;' It is a thrilling story concerning a'Wdnian who marries a man condemned'to' death in order to carry out the terms of a strange will. There is a sensational collapse in a coal mine, and dynamite is used to blast a passage out. There will be an interesting programme of supporting featurettes. CRYSTAL PALACE AND EMPRESS. "Devil May Care" is a splendid holiday programme. It will be presented at the Crystal Palace Theatre, Mount Eden, and the Empress, Newton, to-night. It is a romance of those stirring days in France:when Napoleon was banished to Elba, and Louis was restored to the throne. The hero, Armand, is a strong Bonapartist. and is caught conspiring for the return of Napoleon, and is about to be .shot, when lie makes his escape. He seeks sanctuary in the room of the heroine. This leads to a romance calculated to turn dizzy the heads of • all young maids. Later, Armand, figuring as a servant in the house of a friend, has to wait upon the heroine, and for the life of him cannot help making love to her. Ramon Novarro is the featured player.

ROXY THEATRE. The programme at the Roxy Theatre is above the average from an entertainment point of view, and should attract a large holiday crowd to-night. The main attraction is "Sweetie," a hilarious story of life and, beauty centring around young -~

people. Nancy Carroll is the ■ featured player and she inherits a boys' school. This is the signal for trouble,, and she makes it galore. The fun is fast and the dialogue bright. Stuart Erwin. gives a display of a new way for a shy young man to show his love for a girl. As a wooer he is too inarticulate to declare his affections, so he has her name tattooed on his chest and two hearts pierced by an arrow on his back. "Sweetie" is a delightful play. There is a good programme of talking featurettes, including comedies, cartoons, and snapshots. Tomorrow "Soul of France" will be presented. ' - ■ ;
