PRICES AT FRANKTON

Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their weekly stock sale at Frankton as under:— There was a short yarding of fat cattle and fat sheep, which met with good competition at fully up to late rates'. Prime fat cows, £8 10/ to £9 7/6; lighter sorts, £6 5/ to £7 10/; unfinished and rougher sorts, £5 to £5 15/; light fat heifers, £7 15/ to £8 2/6; boner cows, £2 to £3 0/6; fat wethers, 26/6 to 28/5, for good prime sheep; fat ewes, 16/6 to 18/5. There was a large yarding of both .dairy cows and heifers, but the demand was very weak, and approved prices did not meet with owners. There was a small yarding of both fat and store pigs, prices a shade better for fats, while stores were on a par with last sales. Baconers, £2 18/ to £3 5/; porkers, £2 7/ to £2 12/; small ditto, £1 16/ to £2 2/; choppers, £3 12/ to £4 15/; . good stores, £1 6/ to £1 10/; slips, 18/ to 24/; weaners, 10/ to 14/.
