GOOD CLEARING SALE.

Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Hamilton, in conjunction with the Farmers' Auctioneering Company and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held a large dispersal sale of dairy stock on account of Mr. V. H. Nolan, on his property at Roto-o-Rangi, on Friday, May 23.

There was a very large attendance of buyers from all parts of the Waikato and North Auckland. The facilities "for holding the sale were quite good, and the large number of over three hundred dairy cows and heifers were sold in under four hours.

The stock consisted of Jersey, Jersey cross, Friesian and Shorthorn cows and heifers, all in good order. Competition was very keen, and prices ranged up to £10 10/ for cows and £12 for heifers. The whole 304, including faulty cows, averaged the high price of £10 2/6' per head. NEWSPAPERS BEST. Mr. C. Dandridgo, t\\c London and North-Eastern Railway advertising man-' ager, speaking to membefsi of the British Industrial Association repently, said: We rely more on newspaper . advertising than on any other form of publicity. Fifty per cent of his company's advertising budget, he said, was spent with the newspapers. "There is no better way,".he added. "We have to rely on the newspapers in the end to put over the quick story and see that it gets to every nook and cranny of the country." STAFF CHANGES.

Dominion Breweries, Ltd., notify that Mr. J. L. Cameron, who represented Messrs. Hatrick and Co., Ltd., in their wine, spirit and general merchandise apartments for fourteen years, has now joined up AVith Dominion Breweries, Ltd. in a similar capacity. Mr. Cameron has recently returned from a world tour, and will commence- his new duties aa from June 1.

Another change of Btaff has been brought about by Mr. J. Archibald relinquishing his connection with Messrs. Burns, Philp and Co., Ltd., after looking after the wine and spirit interests of this firm for something like ten years. Mr. Archibald will also commence his duties with Dominion Breweries, Ltd., as from the beginning of next month.
