The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board lias received the following cable from its London office, dated May 9, 1930, advising that the following are the approximate average prices realised for the week, based-011 actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithrield market and/or ex London stores:— Sheep.—Canterbury and North Island selected crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, 481b to 561b, stfd; 571b to 641b, 4%d; 051b to 721b, 4d; North Island, 481b to 561b, 4%d; 571b to 641b, 4#d; 051b to 721b, 3%d. Ewes, 481b to 641b, 3d; 651b to 721b, 2%d. Lambs.—Canterbury, 361b and under, S%d; 371b .to 421b, T'Ad; 431b to 501b, C%d; second quality, average 331b, 7%d. Buyers are displaying ■a. little more confidence in the market. ■ Con-, sumption continues good." Mutton Market: Wethers remain dull, but a little more inquiry. for ewes, owing to present low prices. The beef market is quiet; trade slow. New Zealand porker pigs trade is now slow. New Zealand' baconer pigs prices are nominal. COTTON, RUBBER, JUTE, ETC." LONDON, May 9.
