4. sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow was held on Friday by the combined brokers. There was a good demand lor dry sheepskins, which are quoted by JJalgety and C 0.,. Ltd., and. Levin and Co., Ltd., at m to %d higher, and by Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., at Id higher than ■at last sale. Salted skins were firm, 3d to 6d per skin higher. Hides were well competed for at. prices showing little or no change from the level of last sale. Light ox were slightly lower, medium, ox at par, and heavy ox par to slightly higher lor well-conditioned parcels. Oow hides showed practically no change, and kip and yearling hides also sold at about on the level of last sale: There was a fair . offering •of tallow, which sold at about £1 per ton lower. The range of. prices was as follows:— - , . Dry sheepskins: Half-bred, 7%d to B%'d; fine crossbred, B%d to B%d; medium crossbred 6%d to B*4d; coarse crossbred, 7d to 8d; half wools, 6d to 8d; quarter wools, 5%d to 7%d; pelts, 5d to 7%d. Salted skins: Quarter wools, 2/6 to 4/1; ■half wools, 3/8 to 5/6; three-quarter wools, 4/4 to 5/3; full wools, —; lambs, 2/ to 4/2.
