AUCKLAND CLUB. The second round of the captain's prize was played at Middlemore on Saturday, under perfect conditions. The surprise of the afternoon's play was the easy defeat of R. B. The invitation boys' tourney will commence to-day at 9 a.m., when two qualifying rounds will be played, the eight best medal scores qualifying for the match play, which will be continued on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. The linal will be played on Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
