QUEEN CAHNIVAL.
KEEN COROMANDEL CONtBST. OBJECTIVE FAR EXCEEDED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) COROMANDEL, this day. After an exciting season of six weeks the queen carnival ended at the week-end. It was promoted to raise money to efficiently equip a fire brigade for Coromandel and to render financial assistance to the Coromandel Silver Band. The objective was £200, but the amount actually raised was £523. The Tiki queen. Miss Edna Denize, was the winner, the amount collected in her territory being £226, representing 18.080 voice. The amount raised on behalf of the Kaponga queen. Miss Belle Evans, was £1.54, equal to 12.320 votes, and for the Hauraki queen. Miss Molly Smith, £143, representing 11.440 votes. The largest gathering in years met to hear the result.
