SALESMAN TO THE RESCUE.
WELLINGTON HARBOUR DIVE,

WELLINGTON, this day.
A plucky rescue was performed in the harbour on Saturday night when Percival Raymond Foster, salesman, jumped from a wharf fully clothed after a man named Whitelaw, and got hold of him. Mr. Foster had been seeing the ferry steamer off, and when returning he saw Whitelaw overbalance and fall into the water. A rope was thrown to Foster, but it broke as the pair were , being dragged up and they fell back for a second immersion.
