FOOTBALLERS INJURED.
TWO SENT TO HOSPITAL.
SERIOUS MISHAP AT THAMES,
Several footballers received injuries last Saturday, owing to the harness of the playing grounds. Two players were admitted to the Auckland Hospital.
Edward Graham, aged 19, of 17, Auckland Road, Onehunga, had one thigh fractured. He was first taken home, but was later admitted to the hospital, where he is progressing favourably.
S. Goodwin, aged 22, a Ponsonby senior League player, received slight concussion while playing at Carlaw Park. Mr. Goodwin, who lives in Albert Street, Avondale, was also taken to the hospital, and was later able to proceed to his home.
Minor injuries were received by several other players, and most of the games • were held up at frequent intervals while members of the' St. John Ambu» lance gave first aid treatment.
During a Rugby match, at Thames a boy named Delamore, a member of the High School team, collided with another player. He was sent to the hospital. At Paeroa a IG-year-old youth, L. Bramble, collided with another player and had his left leg fractured above the ankle.
In a match at Dunedin a player named Methers. living at Port Chalmers, had his leg broken.
