FLIGHT TO AUCKLAND.
FLYING-OFFICER PIPER.
RECEPTION AT BLENHEIM.
A Press Association message states that .Elying - Officer L. D. Piper, who flew recently from' England to Australia with Plying '' - Officer C. Kay, ' and who is at present en route from . Christchurch to Auckland, arrived at Blenheim at 3.15 ' p.m. on Saturday after a forced landing at Spotswood through engine trouble. He was accorded a civic reception at Blenheim, arid was welcomed by officials of the Aero Club and a large crowd of citizens.
Pilot Mehyre, of the Canterbury Aero Club, als? arrived at 3.32 p.m.' in a Moth machine; eh route to Christchurch.
Mr. Piper was to leave yesterday for Auckland, hut no further news of his flight bad been received at the Mangere aerodrome at noon to-day.
It was considered possible that he will arrive late this afternoon.
