MOTOR GARAGE BURNED.
SEVERAL VEHICLES LOST.
DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £5000.

NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday.
A motor garage at Waitara 'Was destroyed by fire on Saturday night, and with it seven heavy motor lorries, one valuable car and one motor cycle were destroyed. The owner, Mr. E. A Johnson, estimates the damage at between £5000 and £6000, some of which is covered by insurance.
The fire was a spectacular one, and was visible for miles. The benzine tank of one lorry exploded, and pieces of i* fell a considerable distance awav. One piece narrowly missed hitting Mrs. John-, son when it fell on a lawn.
