"DOWN WITH ALFONSO."
SPANISH REPUBLICANS. MADEID, May 2. There was a crowd of about 10,000 people at the railway station to greet Senor Unamuno, a former Rector _ of Salamanca University, who was exiled during the dictatorship. After his arrival he addressed a meetin<r of Republicans. The crowd cheered wildly. Some shouted: "Long live Unamuno! Down with ALtonso! A bugle was immediately sounded, and police, mounted and on foot, charged with drawn sabres. Twelve persons were wounded.
