LORDS AND COAL BILL.
CLASH FORESHADOWED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May I. The House of Lords agreed to the second reading of the Coal Mines Bill without division. The Conservatives, however, intimated their intention of amending the bill in the committee stage. Lord Thompson said the Government would have to take a very firm stand on the committee stage. The bill was a measure of national importance, and ifc was introduced to help the coal industry.
