Fiery Speeches In Sydney Domain. COMMUNISTS ARRESTED. SYDNEY, May I. Communists held a procession in Sydney to-day to celebrate May Day. Crowds of unemployed men assembled at street corners and watched the Reds pass by, but declined invitations to take of a fiery nature were delivered in. the Domain. * The police arrested 17 Communists who attempted to parade without permission at Glebe. A demonstration was made in Melbourne. There were no disturbances.
JAP., PRECAUTIONS. 200 SUSPECTS GAOLED. TOKYO, May 1. 4s a precautionary measure 200 trouble-makers were imprisoned last nifht in Tokyo. Labour Day passed without serious disturbances. Processions were escorted by 5000 police, who enforced order. One thousand women took part.
