THE MONS STAR,

Please allow me to correct "sth Conn. Ranger." Unless he was in France or Belgium between the dates August sth and November 22, 1914, and within the range of the enemy's guns, he does not hold the Mons Star. The Mons Star has on it "1914." It also has a clasp with the dates "August 5 to November 22, 1914." The 1914-15 Star has no clasp. So if "sth Conn, vanger" was not in France or Belgium on ci , between those dates under conditions stated above he does not hold that rare decoration. I do know that the regular line regiment of the Connaught Rangers are entitled to wear it, but not the sth Battalion, ONE WHO HOLDS THE MONS STAR. "W.M." writes to say that the "1914-15 Star" was not granted ' for any particular operation, but was given to combatants and non-combatants serving in a war zone in 1914-15.
