WAIPAHI FOR RAROTONGA. MAHIA TO LOAD. The departure yesterday afternoon of the Ruahine, Port Hobart and Huntingdon leaves only four overseas vessels in port. Of these, the Waipahi is to sail tor Earotonga, and the Golden Cross for Wellington this afternoon, and the Lady Lewis for Westport .to-morrow morning. For final loading for Montevideo and London the Mahia is due from the South to-night. The tanker Brunswick is due from Los Angeles to-morrow, followed by the Canadian Transporter from the South on Sunday to load for the Atlantic Coast." Two passenger ships are due from Sydney next week. The E.M.in.s Aorangi arrives on Monday and sails for Vancouver on Tuesday. The Makuva arrives from Sydney on Tuesday, 'arid returns on Friday. The Kaponga sailed yesterday afternoon for Portland to. load for Wellington and Lyttelton. She is to clear Portland at noon to-morrow.. .. The Waimea left Gisborne at 3.30 p.m. yesterday for Napier and Aucklanl. She arrived at Napier at 4.30 a.m. to : day and is to sail at 5 p.m The Waiplata was to leave Wellington for Auckland at noon to-day. From here, she returns to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, Oamaru and Timaru, sailing on Wednesday next. The Wlngatui sails at o, p.m. to-day for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Timaru. The Kanna is now loading at Greymouth for Napier and Auckland. The last of the Union Company's Ul f nev: cargo steamers, the Walmarino, lefi England on April 21 for Dunedin, Lyttelton and Auckland, via Durban. She is due at Dunedin early in July. The Wai marino, which is of 3080 tons gross, was launched by the Ardrossan Dockyard, Limited. The vessel is a single screw steamer, 320 ft in length and 46.7 ft in breadth, with a depth of 25.5 ft, moulded to upper deck. The machinery was made by John G. Kineaid and Company, Limited, of Greenock. The steamer is built on the same lines as the* Waipiata, and she •will be. used for the Dunedin-Wellington-Auck-land service. Captain A. S. She is scheduled to return to Auckland on May 21. and to "ail for Southampton and London, via Panama, three days later.
