SHELTER FOR HOMELESS.
"DOSSHOTJSE" OPENED. EVERY BED OCCUPIED. The new dosshouse controlled by the Auckland City Mission was opened last evening, when shelter was given to -At men, including a number of ex-soldiers. Every bed was occupied, and it is- expected that a larger number of men will applv for shelter this year than during any of the three previous winters in which this branch of the mission's activities has been in operation. The men were addressed last evenin"- bv the Rev. Jasper Calder, who said that 'it was a pity that a shelter was necessary. The ages of the men ranged froia -25 to 75 years. The shelter is in charge of the organising secretary of the mission, Mr. Clark. '
