PRESENTATIONS.
Mr. W. J. Short, who for the past eight years lias been secretary and treasurer to the Pukekohe Rugby Union, was presented last night with a canteen of cutlery. Mr. J. P. Rae, the president, said Mr. Short had accepted the position at the beginning of the union, and had continued until, at his own request, he was relieved of his duties at the last annual meeting.
A desk was presented to Mr. C. H. Venimore, senior telegraph supervisor at the Hamilton chief post office for the last 18 months, at a staff gathering pi-ior to his transfer to a similar posftion in Auckland. Mr. C. A. Mathieson, chief postmaster, presided, Mr. Venimore will he succeeded by Mr. J. Broadbent, of Wellington.
Mr. A. J. Wills, who is ending his association with A. S. Paterson and Co., was yesterday the recipient of a handsome gift presented by the directors and staff of the company. Mr. E. S. Eastgate, in making the presentation, conveyed to Mr. Wills the directors* appreciation of his services and wishes for future success.
