EAKGAVILLE CELEBRATION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, Friday. A very largo muster of returned soldiers, territorials, senior cadets and Boy Scouts took part in the Anzac Day observances. Headed by the North Auckland Regimental Band, under Lieut. G. M. itirton, the parade took place from the Kaihu bridge and marched into the Empii-e theatre, followed by several hundred citizens, all taking part in the combined service. Officers in charge of the various units on parade were: Lieut. M. de R. Petrie, C.S.M., A. T. Brady, C.S.M, A. Hitchcock, and Scoutmaster J. B. Cranston. The Mayor (Mr. F. A. Jones) and the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates spoke impressively and the Revs. J. C. Fussell, N. 0. White and W. J. Endicott and Captain Parker represented the churches. Wreaths were placed on the soldiers' memorial. Over 300 returned soldiers attended the annual banquet and reunioirheld at Dargaville last* evening: Mr. A. T. Brady occupied the chair find the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, M.C., P.C, M.P. and Sisters Collins and West, of Whangarei, were present • ' It was the first occasion on which ladies had attended and the hope was expressed, and loudly endorsed by acclamation, that many more of the sisters would be present at future functions.
