CINERARIA FLY.
If the leaf borer is disfiguring your cineraria plants spray the foliage with water in which you have placed some Stockholm tar. A cupful of tar to four gallons of water is about right. It is the smell as much as anything that the insects dislike. The borer works just under the skin of the leaf; you can pinch the grub and stop his progress. By looking closely the insect can be seen in the ehape of a small maggot,
