CROWN AREAS ALLOCATED.

BLOCK NEAR POKENO The continued activity in the settlement of Crown lands was indicated by the allocation of 2498 acres on Wednesday at a ballot held by the North Auckland Land Board. The areas were parcelled out among 1 ' selectors.. Seven sections in the ballot were in the Koheroa parish, and made up a block of 1406 acres on the Paeroa-Pokeno Road, nine miles from Pokeno. The areas were from 53 acres to 457 acres. Applicants numbered 39, who, for the most part, were men good farming experience and had sufficient capital to develop their properties. Besides this block there were scattered sections throughout the district, for which applications were received. Seven selectors were approved for an area of 1092 acres, making up a total of 2498 1 acres for the ballot.
