PROFESSOR'S VIEWS. LONDON, April 1. "It would be a sight to stir Edinburgh to the depths if you all bounded barelegged down Princes Street in a glad throng instead of sitting here wasting time listening to me." In these words Professor Lelan addressed a group of Edinburgh business men on "Common Sense and Clothing." "I admit that I'm a gross moral coward," the professor said, "otherwise I'd appear before you in a roll collar open-necked shirt, shorts so short as to be inconsiderable, white socks and tennis shoes. But were I to appear thus arrayed, Princes Street would be the centre of an excited crowd."
