Nelson Girl will have to learn to trot more solidly before she can have a chance of winning a face. Trustworthy is showing speed in her races, and she may be first home in her next start. Hal Chimes stood on the mark in the Waikato Handicap, and practically took lib part in the race. F. Smith is consistently in the money. He drove Inverness and Nella Dillon at Hamilton, and both returned second place dividends. . Dan Direct showed a lot of speed in the Waipa Handicap on Saturday, in which he finished third. With a bit more work into him the English-bred horse is bound to win good money. . Warspite did not look at all bright when paraded for the Waikato Handicap, and in addition one of his legs was heavily bandaged. The Man-o'-War gelding at no stage of the race threatened to be dangerous. ..Glandoro did not go away in the Waikato Handicap, and only took sufficient part to lose his supporters their money. Later in the day he lined up for the fast mile and again tangled, at the start, but once on the journey he showed a fine turn of speed. Dad's Hope was paying a great price in the Waipa Handicap, and he led from the tapes till the home turn was reached. In the run to the judge he faded out and eventually finished seventh. Explosion was prominent all the way in the Waikato Handicap. A. Julian had him nicely placed on the fence in fifth, position with a round to go, and he was still .there turning for home. However, he could not sprint home, but hung on well, and was fifth passing the judge. The next time Windchat steps out it should be like getting money for nothing. The daughter of The Triumph was having her first run at Hamilton, and but for a couple of breaks she would have been in the money. Windchat is owned by Mrs. T. Brady, and trained bv T. P. Grimmond.

Nathaniel is racing well, and in each of his last three starts has filled second place. Nathaniel is a great beginner, this is a big advantage. Torpedo Huon went a great race in the "Vvaikato Handicap, even though, he only finished sixth, lie was putting in great work over the last furlong, but seeing that he was handicapped to give Warplane 84yds, and Warplane went 4.32" 4-5, it Avas a big task Torpedo Huon was set. Warplane came home the last half mile in 1.3 3-5.
