An official communication has been received by Mrs. W. H. Parkes, president of ■ the Lyceum Club, from her Excellency Lady Bledisloe accepting ■with- pleasure the position of warden to the club.
"What the Navy Means to the British Empire," is the subject on which the Eev. W. G. Monckton will speak to the members of the Lyceum Club at luncheon on Thursday. Mr. Monckton's ability as a speaker is well known and his knowledge of the dangers which lie in wait for a seaborne trade without adequate protection is second to none. Membere are a6sured of an intellectual treat and of gaining knowledge on a subject which may yet be vital to our lives.'
