ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES,

THIS MORNING'S WORK. SPRINT FAST. With the exception of a slight shower after breakfast the weather was fine for training work at Ellerslie this morning. The course proper, with the poles about 50ft out, and the No. 2 grass track were open for fast work, but the former was in most use. The going was good. The Course Proper. The first to work were Gold Money and Ruling King, who got to the end of six furlongs in 1.24 2-5. King Emerald was allotted, a similar task, which he completed in 1.22 3-f>. Eager Rose was sent over a round, which she completed in 2.13, the last seven furlongs taking 1.39 4-5. This mare has never looked better than at present, and should race prominently at Te Rapa. Hannibal jumped off at the six-furlong post and finished up his task in 1.20 3-3. Corinax and Gemlight were companions over a round, completing the distance in 2.11 3-5. They ran the final six furlongs in 1.24 2-o. Both did their work well, and they are in excellent condition. Sir Archie was going better than Spring Abbey at the end of seven furlongs, run in 1.35. They covered the last half mile in 52 2-ss. Rafflight," on the inside, appeared to be going better than Tremetus while running four furlongs in 52 3-ss. • Wild Country, Mon Star and Kamehameha jumped off at the mile barrier and were in that order at the finish in 1.51 1-5. Hoariri sprinted three furlongs in 40 l-ss, doing it nicely. Gay Cockade ran home from the sixfurlong poet in 1.24 2-5. Odin and Freyja strode over a round, covering the distance in 2.17 3-5. Karangapai and Arabesque were timed to run four furlongs in 51 4-ss. There was practically nothing between them at the finish, and both did their work well. No. 2 Grass. Land Measure, who is on the improve, sprinted three furlongs in 40 2-ss. Lady Court put plenty of dash into a half mile taek, which she completed in 49 3-sn. Hampton Park, going easily, took 57 3-os for a similar task. Neil and Good Idea were on terms at the end of five furlongs in 1.9 2-5, whilfi Foot Rule and Silene ran a fuflong less in 56 2-ss. Avoncourt, Manawhenua and Jaeldy Karo were associated over four furlongs. They covered the distance in 51 2-Js. Jaeldy Karo failed to jump away,with the" others, and ran along behindr Avoncourt was going better than Manawhenua at the finish. Roman Pearl was not doing her best to run half a mile in 55 l-ss, a distance which Soami covered in 52 3-ss. Others to do useful work were Taneriri, Tetrtichate, Royal Tea, Cynthia N, New Boy, Glenotus and Mountain Guide. The Jumpers. Twinkler, a Day Comet four-year-old in E. C. Rae's stable, and an unnamed roan gelding in the same stable, cleared several pony hurdles safely. Dark Prince (W. Rowe), Kerry Dance (J. Burgess) and Mountain Guide (J. Sharkey) , cleared a pony hurdle safely s and were afterwards associated over a round of four schooling hurdles. They got through their task in a satisfactorymanner. Park Prince gave the besj display, while Kerry Dance, after clearing the first two hurdles, also improved in his jumping.
