The annual meeting of the Ancient Order Foresters' "Bowling Social, which was well attended, showed the - finances of the association to be'. in.. a very ■ eaUbfnetoi-y position. Great enthusiasm was shown, and ni most progressive, year is anticipated Officers for. tue,ensuing year were elected as follow:—Patron; 'Bro. A. G. Osborne, D.C.11; president,,,Bro.., W. H. Drew; management committee, Bros. ,Morey, J. Li. Wilson arid: Che'cfc-; \ sedretary-treasurer, Bro, T. Preston; auditor, Mr. Theo J. Spry. The first tournex singles will be -held on Saturcjfty •next' and_Sat.urday, \pril 5,-in the Ponsonby Drill Hall, starting each day' at 1,30 sharp. ' " . - The entries show an increase over la&t vear. The next tourney, the full rinks, will beheld in the same hall on Saturday, May 3,- and: Saturday, May 10. ORANGE BOWLING ASSOCIATION., The annual meeting of the Orange Bowling Association, held on Tuesday evening, was the most enthusiastic in its history. The finances are in a very healthy .state arid j it was decided to arrange for two more sets of bowls and carpets for the ensuing year; to cope with the increased memberS Officers were elected as follow :-r-Presi-dent Bro. Frank Harris; vice-presidents, Sister Miller and Bros. H. Bolton and J. Uatti-ay; secretary, Sister L. -Boles; .treasurer *Brb. A. Dicks; management committee, pflicers, ex-oflicers and one delegate.from ■■ each lodge. r : ■ ' :, The official opening for. the 1930 season takes place ion ; Monday evening next the Holy Sepulchre schoolroom, Khyber Pass f Kindred indoor and outdoor bowlers are cordially invited. .. Progressive tournaments will be played. Teams will be balloted for- and a good evening's sport is promised. Nominations to be in before 7.45, so as to start at eight sharp.
