The Awapuni Racing Club's autumn meeting opened at Awapuni in cloudyweather and will terminate on Thursday. There is a large attendance, The track is fast. Favourite Fails in Hurdles. For the Hurdles, Red Fuchsia ( £661), Aurora Borealis (£325) and Omeo ( £266) were most fancied. Red Fuchsia was the early leader, followed by Red ; Bank. Going through the straight Red | Bank held command, and as they entered | the back stretch he Was leading from Vivo, with Omeo, Red Fuchsia, Diana's Lad and Aurora Borealis nevt. Across the top Vivo had command, but Red Bank was with her as they turned for home, followed by Omeo, Diana's Lad and Red Fuchsia. In the run home Omeo did beat and won by two lengths from Diana's Lad, the latter beating Vivo by three lengths. Red Fuchsia was fourth, with Airtight and Aurora Borealis next. A Big Field, A big field of twenty lined up for the Autumn Plate. Pedestal (£511), BenHur ( £380) and Fitzquex ( £368) were most in demand, Killigrew was first to show out from Zephyrus, Ben Hur, Fitzquex and Spearform. Crossing the top the order of the leaders was Ben Hur, Zephyrue, Killigrew, Star Gold and Fitzquex, The leader into the straight was Ben Hur, followed by Zephyrus, Spearform, Ball Drese and Pedestal, Bon Hur held off a challenge from Ball Prose' to win by a length and a half, with Pedestal a head away th.i;\l, Spearform was fourth, with Zephyrus next. A Surprise. Eaglet was the only withdrawal from the Prince of Wales Handicap, 13 starting, Panther (£470), Vale (£449) and Full Feather (£418) were the fancies. Silvermine waß quickest into his stride from Ruanui, Vale, Juggle and Balloon. Entering the back stretch Juggle was in the lead from Silvermine, Vale, Panther, Dolomite, Balloon, Ruanui and The Swell, Crossing the top The Swell ' took charge, followed by Silvermine, Juggle, Dolomite, Panther, Balloon and Valo.' Entering the straight, Silvermine and The Swell were together in front, with Juggle, Dolomite, Shrewd and Paitonu close up. In a great finish The Swell won by a nose from Silvermine, with Vale half a neck away, third, and Paitonu a head further away, fourth. Then came Merry Damon and Ruanui. Results-
