The three New Zealand Rugby League players, Hardgravej Hutt and Hall, all formerly of Auckland, who were brought from the Dominion in August last to play for St. Helens, addressed a claim to the. secretary of the club demanding a guarantee of £3 10/ a .week for 52 week regardless of their football earnings, and,, secondly, a guaranteed benefit and £250 each retaining fee. They declare that the work found them is unsatisfactory from a wages point of view.
The committee rejected the demands owing to the refusal of the New.Zealanders to allow the matter to remain in abeyance, until after the League Cup semi-finalj and all three were omitted from the team- to meet Wigan.
