WHALER RETURNS.
, Successful Season in Far South. , VALUABLE CARGO ABOARD. (Received 10 a.m.) HOBART, this day. The Norwegian whaler Neilsen Alonzo, and five chasers arrived from a five months' cruise in the far south. The whales captured numbered 745, yielding 55,000 barrels of oil, valued at £230,000. Only 37 fish were taken during a six weeks' stay in the Ross Sea. The fleet returned to the outskirts of the pack ice where 26 were caught in one day. Only two true sperms were taken during the cruise.
