OTAHUHU POLICE COURT.
At the Otaliuhu Police Court' yesterday before Mr. Levien, S.M., eighteen residents charged with failure to remove all obstructions arising through the growth of gorse and blackberry were fined, two 20/ and costs, and others 10/ and costs For breach of motor regulations the following were fined in small amounts: — Allen Blackie, Norman Allright, John D. Daveys, Trevor Patrick Clarkin, Noel Walter Pulman, Arthur James Scott, and Cecil Sutherland. Albert, Geo. Lea and Edwin Woods, of East Tamaki, were prosecuted by the inspector of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Society on a charge that they did cruelly beat a horse with a stock whip. After lengthy evidence his Worship dismissed the case as he was satisfied cruelty had not been proved. Mr. Gould, wh(> represented defendants, applied for costs against the inspector and received £4 4/.
