MEETING IN TWO WEEKS.
ADMINISTRATOR AND CHIEFS. LOCAL GROUP PROBLEM. Representatives of the Samoans, including High Chiefs Malietoa, Mataafa, Tuimalealiifano and Fauniuina and other leading chiefs are to meet the i Administrator in about two weeks' time to further consider the position. In the meantime the laws which were suspended during the truce have again come into operation. On the afternoon of Friday, March 7 '(the day the Tofua left), the "wanted" men marched into Apia and gave themselves up in a body to the police authorities. They were accompanied by ' ione of their leading chiefs. Throughout the negotiations there ■•were no demonstrations. There was a dignified calm. At the first meeting of the fono a dignified attitude was maintained by the chiefs, who offered kava jto the New Zealand representatives. At the following meetings there was said to be a distinct air of friendliness.
