OTAHUHU SPORTS.
SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL. The Otahuhu Sports Association held its second annual carnival of hunting and riding events on Saturday on the Otahuhu Trotting Club's property at Mangere, when, despite several counter attractions, there was a good attendance of the public, who were rewarded with an excellent display of riding and jumping. Mr. S. Hirst, of Pokeno, who judged the various events, remarked at the conclusion of the programme that he had not seen a more even lot of jumping for a long time and that in most cases it was very difficult to make his awards. With an attractive programme of 16 events and good prizes, those responsible were rewarded with excellent entries, there being 13 for the champion hunter, which was won by Miss P. Weston's Bluelight, and 22 competed for the stockmen's competition, which was won by Mr. J. Paton, while the class fsr medium-weight hunters attracted 19 entries. If the committee of this association can maintain Saturday's standard of events and prizes, it has a bright future before it.
