Herron, of St. David's Church, Auckland, was unanimously chosen by the selection committee of the Presbyterian General Assembly as minister of the First Church, Dunedin. The Rev: Mr. Herron has been minister of St. David's Church, Khyber Pass, for some years. : During the war he_ rendered'excellent'service as a chaplain in England and France. Two years ago he attended the world missionary conference in Jerusalem, and on his return gave valuable information to the churches. First Church, Dunedin, was founded by the pioneer Presbyterian minister, the Rev. Thomas Burns, and the present fine building was the result of the vision which he conceived for the senior Presbvterian Church in Otago.
