The weather was bright and .mild and-there was some interesting work. On the Plough. Glare ran a mile in 1.46 4-5, going. very well. ; Waterline beat Full Feather over seven furlongs in 1.33 1-5. , Paquito and Arikiwai ran four'fur--longs in' 51 4-ss. Great Charter strode out in pace work, and Wenday easily ran six furlongs in 1.27. Valuation was given good solid pace work. He looks very well. Eaglet ran the last.four of five furlongs, going easily,', in 51s. Moa Bird ran the four furlongs in 50s, the last three in 375. This was a first-class effort. On the Grass. This track was much faster than the plough. Vertigern covered five • furlongs in 1.4, running the last three I:i 395. ;.:He was going easily in the early part. Chrysology and Rapallo covered four furlongs in 49 l-ss. ■ . Pagaaelli, apparently going well within himself, ran his first furlong in 12s, two furlongs in 265, and six furlongs in 1.13, the last half mile taking 475. White Fang and In the- Shade pleased by working a solid.six furlongs in 1.15, "the last three in 3Gs.. The Hawk, whose appearance does not please, covered five furlongs in 1.5, the last four in 51s. Course Proper. From the half mile post Chief,.Joy, Appledore and Hard Words finished together, all going well. Merry Cry, Autopay and Gold Sands were also on terms at the end of a similar task, with Autopay doing best. ■ Tenterden finished well clear of Awaken, with Grey Linnet several lengths back, at the end of a similar journey. After breakfast, Lucretia and Jason did easy exercise on the plough. Latin Quarter and Paris did solid work on the same track. My Own on the trial grass easily ran the fivo furlongs in 1.5 1-5, the last lour taking 51s. Jenny Diver moved up to the half mile post on the course proper and strode down leisurely. Hunting Day, on the outside of the' course proper, ran three furlong-, in 395, and did it well. * Cylinder, on the extreme outside of the course proper, ran five furlongs in 1.4 1-5. Star Stranger, on the outside of the' course proper, and. picked up by Don Quixote at the six-furlong post, ran a mile, in 1.44 2-5. He took 53 2-5s for the first half and 51s for the last half.
