THE WELLINGTON MEETING. RECENT ARRIVALS. PROSPECTS OF FLAIR. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") WELLINGTON, Wednesday. H. Cutts, with Full Feather, Waterline, Ball Dress and Hurly Burly, and F. D. Jones, with Paquito, Arikiwai and Dunraven, arrived at Trentham thie morning from Eiccarton. The Invercargill trainer, F. J. McClay, has arrived at Trentham with Paris and Lucky Light. Star Stranger, Cylinder, Hunting Day and Don Quixote came down to Trentham from Hastings this afternoon. Riccarton reports suggest that Aspirin "■ is unlikely to make the trip to Trentham. Owner-trainer H. Rama has arrived at Trentham with Taneriri, who will be ridden in the Thompson Handicap either by N. Voitre or C. Goulsbro. H. Gray was riding work at Trentham thie morning. So far Gray's mount in the Thompson Handicap is The Hawk. He will also be on Ex Dono in the Tinakori Handicap.

Flair is coming into the discussions for the Eailway Handicap. This - three-year-old filly by Psychology from Oroiino ie a etabfe mate of Ked Heckle. She has not done much racing, but in all her starts she has shown exceptional speed. She won at her only start as a two-year-old in the late autumn and commenced the present season with a second to Pink Coat last September. She then ran in the Dunedin Guineas, but finished out of a place. She did not race again until Boxing Day, when &he ran unplaced in ! the Westland Christmas Handicap at Greymouth. Two days later she ran third in a sixfurlong race, and on January 1 won the Electric Handicap, five and a half furlongs, on the same track. The opposition in each case was poor. Flair's next start was in the Trial Stakes at Riccarton last month, which ehe won very easily in the good time, of 1.27 for seven furlongs. Gay Crest was second and subsequent winners in Ravine and Tourist were unplaced. The class that Flair has met bo far, bar Pink Coat, has not been good, but she appears to have improved with the advance of the season, and in all possibility that improvement will continue. Flair was bred by Mr. T. H. Lowry and went cheaply at the Trentham sales for 50ge; She is a sister to Banket, another speedy mare, who did not stay, and her dam, Orofino, is out of D'Oro, a sister to Desert Gold. R. E. Coveny has been waning to ride her'in. the .Railway Handicap; but he cannot get down near enough to the 7st she ie set to carry. The mount has gone "to A. "fl. Eastwood. H. N. Wiggins has accepted the mount on Tβ Awhina in the Thompson Handicap. Mr. W. Price will again act as starter at the Wellington meeting on Saturday and Monday, Mr. C. O'Connor not being fit enough yet to resume his duties. L. J. Ellis :\v|ll idde First Money in the Railway Handicap and Paquitoin the Thompson Handicap.
